As there is no known specification for the military Model 18 this
page shows the most likely specification based on the known
WD16H and the civilian 1938 model 18 motorcycles as given in various
contemporary, dedicated Norton manuals.
The rolling chasis for the Spanish machines were most likely
standard civilian. Assy books do not indicate otherwise.
The British machines were, at least partly, provided with standard WD16H frames.
With regards to spare parts lists, the spanish will have used the
civilian version. The British will most likely have used the
1938/9 civilian spares lists. The low number of motorcycles would
probably not warrant the designation of sources in a time of crisis
and all information was available in existing but separate documents. |
